Patricia Luster Obituary

Patricia Ann Luster passed away on Sunday, April 7th, 2024, surrounded by loved ones at the home of her daughter, Sally Taubken, in New Stanton, Pa.  Patty, as she was affectionately known, was born on August 9th, 1928 in Zanesville, Oh to Russell L. Granger and Pauline Lecrone Granger of Zanesville.

Patricia was a very active wife, Mother, Grandmother, sister and friend; Patty never met a stranger and she always made everyone around her feel welcomed.  She shared her time for the past 36 years between Englewood, Florida, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.  Throughout her life she maintained an active lifestyle spending her time with her beloved family and friends. She participated in a variety of activities that included being a member of the Eastern Star and The Lemon Bay Woman’s Club.  She attended the Englewood Methodist church of Englewood, Florida and the Englewood Fellowship Church.  Patty attended Muskingum College and taught school as a P.E. teacher.  She thrived and lived in Englewood for 36 years where she played golf, shelled, walked the beach, went to the Jetties, did crafts, and spent lots of time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who called her Yaa Yaa.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan Luster, and Sally (David) Taubken, along with two grandchildren: Dan (Courtney) Taubken, Sara (Jim) Lazar; five great-grand children; Elizabeth Taubken, Gabriella Taubken, Charlotte Taubken, Michael Lazar, and Katherine Lazar. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Myrna Granger, 4 nieces and nephews, her close friend and “adopted” daughter, Hannah Jordan Partridge and her 4 children.

Patty is preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Bert Luster, whom she married on November 26th, 1949, her brother, Paul David Granger, her parents, and her in-laws.

In lieu of flowers Mom would want you to take a day and spend it with your family and enjoy them.  Private services will be held for Patricia at the Zanesville Memorial Park, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Bert Luster. Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, of Zanesville, Ohio has been entrusted with the care of the family.
