Florence James Sletzer, 101, of Zanesville, died at 12:48 on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Autumn Health Care of Zanesville.  She was born on July 9, 1910 in High Hill, OH to the late Noah W. and Martha E. Patton James.  Florence was the co-founder with her husband, of the H.J.Sletzer Electric Company and also operated the Sletzer Orchard.   She was a member of the Coburn United Methodist Church and the Timber Run Grange.

Surviving are her daughter, Martha (Ron) Ball of Zanesville and two sons, Ralph Sletzer and George  (Dorothy) Sletzer both of Zanesville; seven grandchildren, Larry Ball, Barb Ball Umbleby, Sharon Sletzer Miller, John Sletzer, Jeff Sletzer, Tina Sletzer Nelson, and Teresa Sletzer Church, numerous great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry J. Sletzer who died on April 23. 1991; four sisters, an infant girl not named, Revella James, Mariam James, and Louella Smith and three brothers, Gilbert, Carl, and Marcellus James.

Friends and family may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Monday, June 25, 2012 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville where the funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 25, 2012 with Rev. Webster Cox officiating.  Florence will be laid to rest next to her husband, Henry at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.

So sorry for your loss, our thoughts and prayers are with you all, I remember going up the the orchard with Dad and watching them make apple cider and seeing the wonderful quilts she made what a long life she had, our love to you all
