Laura “Jean” Edwards, 87, of Nashport, died at 6:10 a.m. on June 16, 2012 at Muskingum County Home. She was born on October 31, 1924 in Toboso to the late John and Cora Brill Hewitt. She was a member of the Muskingum Presbyterian Church and Richvale Grange. Jean retired after thirty-five and a half years of service from Brockway Glass in January 1987.
Surviving are one son, Chris A. Edwards of Nashport; three grandchildren, Mark (Karen) Edwards, Mike Edwards and Kris Edwards all of Nashport; seven great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren; and a brother, John O. Hewitt of Sandusky.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Edwards who died December 8, 2001; two sons, Steven W. Edwards and Ronald E. Edwards; two sisters, Betty Sharkey and Helen McCann and several brothers.
Friends and family will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, June 18, 2012 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville where the funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 with Phillip Walker officiating. Jean will be laid to rest next to her husband, William, at Muskingum Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Nashport.

Jean was always just a hop away when needed. She''d do what ever she could to help. She was a good co-worker some time back, and Friend. She will always be with all the great grand and great great grand kids as their special angle. RIP Jean

On the behalf of the residents and staff of the Muskingum County Home we would like to express our deepest sympathy to the family. We truly loved Laura!!!! She was quiet and had the cutest grin but she got serious when it came to a good game of euchre!!! I'm glad to have had the opportunity to have known Laura and her family. God bless you all.

To Mark, Mike and Family, So sorry for your lost of such a great, loving lady. My prayers and thoughts are with each and everyone of you as you face the following days without Grandma Jean as Markie always called her. She was such a joy to be around and I know she will be greatly missed to all that known her. Carol
