I am sorry to hear of Shirley''s passing. My heart felt sympathy goes out to the family. I treasure many memories of Shirley and Bill in past years being involved in the Zane''s Trace Commeoration, being welcomed into their home at the Christmas holidays. Both were such wonderful people.

Sorry for your loss. I''m sure my father and brother knew her, because they both have retired at Armco. My father Richard C Melvin passed in 1981. My brother Richard L Melvin retired from there just a couple of years ago. I just wanted to send our condolences from our family to yours. Just knowing your loved one has done a great service for her co-workers for that many years. She had to be a great lady. Our prayers are with you and yours.

My dearest Aunt...my heart aches but I know you are free of your earthly pain. Your love meant everything to your grand nieces and nephews. My children had so many fun times with you. We will cherish all of our get togethers and 'field trips'. My memories of our family gatherings with you and dad joking over who was older still make me laugh.
Christmas with you as Santa, Easter and the hundreds of eggs we dyed, your visits to the lake. So many memories, all filled with such joy.
We will never forget you and will always love you.

On the behalf of the residents and staff of the Muskingum County Home we would like to express our deepest sympathy to the family. Shirley had the most beautiful smile and blue eyes. She will be sadly missed by all. I'm personally thankful for having the opportunity to have known Shirley and her family. We will not only miss her but we'll miss seeing her grandchildren too. God bless you all.

A HOPI PRAYER

Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there. I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on the ripened grind. I am the gentle autumn’s rain.

When you awaken in the morning hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of the quiet birds in circled flight. I am soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry. I am not there, I did not die .
