Steven E. Sohrenssen, 62, of Deer Park, Texas, died Thursday, April 26, 2012 at his home. He was born November 26, 1949, in Zanesville, a son of the late Carlos and Evelyn Drake Sohrenssen. He was the owner and operator of Sohsafe Consulting Company. He loved his classic car, Cobra Mustang, which won many awards and trophies. He was predeceased by a daughter, Chlaine Nicol Sohrenssen, who died March 31, 1991.

Surviving are his wife, Judith Ann Shaw Sohrenssen; two daughters, Tanhya Sohrenssen of Deer Park, Texas and Kimberly Sohrenssen of McConnelsville; two grandchildren;  two brothers, Jerry (Terri) Sohrenssen of Middletown and Ricky (Cindy) Sohrenssen of Oakland, California; a sister, Cathy (Dennis) Sohrenssen-Donovan of Reserve, New Mexico; brother-in-law, James A Shaw of Tampa, Florida; sisters-in-law, Jolene Newton of Tampa, Florida and Julie Hartzler and her son, Austin of Eaton; nieces, nephew and many cousins.

Friends and family may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the funeral home with Pastor’s Chuck and Pat Gamble officiating.  Steven will be laid to rest beside his daughter, Chlaine, at Poplar Fork Cemetery, Gratiot, Ohio.
