Stephen D. “Denny” Stanger, 63, of Adamsville, died at 9:08 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Genesis Good Samaritan emergency room.  He was born July 16, 1948, in Zanesville, a son of the late Stephen Stanger and Eleanor Rathburn Stanger George.  He worked as a truck driver for Brad Goff Trucking and was a member of the Adamsville Volunteer Fire Dept. for 26 years.

Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Gloria A. Moore Stanger, whom he married November 1, 1980, of the home; four daughters, Tammy (Bret) Johnson of Zanesville, Billie (Justin) Hatfield of Norwich, Angie (Ron) Carroll of Zanesville and Denna (Patrick) Grove of Smith Station, AL; two sons, Steven Stanger of Zanesville and D.J. (Ashley) Stanger of Adamsville; eleven grandchildren, Samantha, Tristan, Kayla, Kelsee, Cody, Kyleigh, Luke, Allyssa, Carli, Tiffany and Seth; four sisters, Karen Luck of South Zanesville, Judy (Walt) Schreiner of Zanesville, Val (Zack) Brown of Washington Court House and Cathy (Ron) Teegardin of Zanesville; three step brothers, Bill George, Paul George and Rick George, all of Florida; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step father, Richard George.

A Celebration of Life service for Denny will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Adamsville Volunteer Fire Dept., 5345 Mollies Rock Rd., Adamsville where the family will receive friends following the service for a time of food and fellowship.

The Stanger family has entrusted the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville to handle all arrangements.
