Rebecca F. Archibald, 89, of Zanesville, died at 2:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Brookdale Assisted Living, Zanesville. She was born July 24, 1927 to the late James and Elizabeth Sands McBride in Leaksville, North Carolina. She was the Director of Volunteers and worked in medical records for over thirty years for Bethesda/Genesis Hospitals. Rebecca was a member of First Baptist Church, Eastern Star, and Soroptimist. She is survived by a daughter, Dr. Catherine Johnson of Zanesville; a son, R. Edward (Kathy) Archibald of Cambridge; eight grandchildren, Alisha (Billy) Colon, Kari (Jeremy) Theil, and Nicholas (Katie) Archibald, Kate (Rick) Dodson, Libby (Dave) Tharp, Dr. Benjamin (Maggie) Herron, Lauren (Ben) Gudorf, Rebecca (Zachary) Duberstein; a step-granddaughter, Emma (Ivan) Ruiz; eleven great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Carl Webb; nine nephews and four nieces. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty eight years, Robert L. Archibald, whom she married June 6, 1946; and three sisters, Connie, Helen, and Evelyn.
