Martha Thorla Obituary

Martha Ann Thorla, 89, of Zanesville, died at 9:46 A.M. on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at her home. She was born on May 3, 1923, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Orville and Jessica Hague Eppley. She was a homemaker and a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Her kind spirit and sense of humor will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her. She is survived by three sons, Neil (Angie) Thorla of New Carlisle, IN, Jeff (Susan) Thorla of McDonald, PA and Eric (Dana) Thorla of Pickerington; two daughters, Joyce Prall of Zanesville and Julie (Jerry) Campbell of Westerville; a brother Roger (Rita) Eppley of Zanesville; a sister-in-law Mary Ruth Eppley Howell; a brother-in-law Ralph Thorla of Zanesville; twelve grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Maurice "Dayle" Thorla who died in 1992; and a brother Richard Eppley. Calling hours will be held from 2:00-4:00 P.M. and 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday, October 19, 2012, at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, where funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 20, 2012, with Rev. Steve McGuire officiating. She will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church: 516 Shinnick Street Zanesville, Ohio 43701; or to the National Kidney Foundation: 2800 Corporate Exchange Drive Columbus, Ohio 43231.
