Kevin L. Moorehead

Kevin L. Moorehead, 56, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away on January 11, 2017, at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay, Ohio. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, co-workers, and the many he touched throughout his life. Kevin was born in Zanesville on April 12, 1960, to James and Faith (Speelman) Moorehead. He graduated from Zanesville (MAJVS) High School in 1977. He married the love of his life, Carol (Blackford) Moorehead, on September 19, 1987. Kevin was devoted to his family as a Husband, Father, Son, Brother and Uncle. He had a long career as a professional truck driver and trainer with CRST-International for over 20 years. Receiving many awards along the way, he capped off his career at CRST with the coveted Two Million Mile Safe Driving award. He continued his driving career at Hanby Farms in Nashport, Ohio. During Kevins early years, he trained and raced Standardbred horses throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania; he went to flight school and became a private pilot. Kevin had a great passion for fishing and golfing; he spent many hours with his family and nephews doing the things he loved. He was a member of the United States Trotting Association, Ohio Horseman Association, and a lifetime member of the Sons of the American Legion. Besides being survived by his wife, Carol, Kevin is also survived by his parents, James and Faith Moorehead of Zanesville, mother-in-law Sandra (Caldwell) Brown of Zanesville, father-in-law Edward Dale Blackford of Zanesville, four children, Tony Moorehead of Youngstown, Jessica (May) Netting of Zanesville, Katie Moorehead of Amarillo, Texas, Jamie Moorehead of Zanesville, three grandchildren, Zariah Moorehead, Catherine Netting, and Tristan Moorehead, one son-in-law, Ryan Netting, and future son-in-law, Malcolm Braughton, two brothers and their wives, Ricky and Margaret (Sabo) Moorehead, Terry and Debbie (Bruce) Moorehead, two sisters and their husbands, Joanna (Moorehead) and Rick Lowry, Faith (Moorehead) and Steve Stover and many nieces and nephews. Kevin was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Ralph Brown, one brother, Mark Moorehead, two sister-in-laws, Machela (Taylor) Moorehead, and Anna Marie (Moorehead) Granillo, one niece, Jennifer Moorehead, and one nephew, Matthew Taylor.
