John W. Cannon III, 74, of Zanesville, died at 12:55 A.M. Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at his home. He was born July 7, 1942 in Greenwich, OH. He was a U. S. Marine Veteran. John retired from OK Coal as a truck driver and was in the Muskingum County Speedway Hall of Fame. Surviving are two sons, Christopher (Lisa) Cannon and Richard A. Sr. (Christal) Cannon; six grandchildren, Kisha, Mike, Krystal, Kyle, Richard Jr., and Morgan; twelve great grandchildren; a sister, Wilma J. Toni Prince; loving companion, JoAnn Kolasz and his caretaker, Amanda Runyon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sally Ann Lawler Cannon; two sons, John R. Pete Cannon and Michael Hardesty and a sister, Roberta Bobbi Kain. No calling hours will be held. A Cremation-With-Care has taken place and inurnment of John, Sally and Pete will be held at Frazeysburg Cemetery, Frazeysburg at a later date.
