Hey, Butch, Late ln my part, but never forgot about you. I don't know what you saw in me to help the way that you did, but I have always been grateful and have never forgotten you and you enormous heart, and empathy. If it were not for you, I very well would have gone to prison a long time ago, or killed. If fact my ex-step father, Marvin Zwelling, met years later and was surprised I was doing well in business, life, etc. He said he expected me to be in prison or dead. I said, no thanks to you......Butch is the one that pointed me in the correct direction.  Thanks again, Butch. Have not cried in a very long time, until I heard you left us, for the moment.  Reg

I was sorry to hear about the passing of a good neighbor and friend. I am out of the country on a missionary journey and therefore could not attend the funeral. Prayers for the family. Butch will be missed. Eric Rittberger

To the family of Butch Zwelling, Mr. Zwelling was a beloved History teacher at Jefferson High School in Dresden when I was in school in the 60's. We all called him Butch when we referred to him, as he was felt to be not just a teacher, but a friend. May he rest in peace. In Sympathy, Sheryl Starner Williams Cold Spring, KY

there are very few words that can describe Howard Zwelling - or Butch as I came to know him. I was raised that he was "Mr. Zwelling", but over the years he insisted on being called Butch. I am one of 10 children and Butch was known by each one of us, including my parents, Clarence and Barbara Shumate. I really got to know him when he started a small business at the Colony Square Mall. . .then when he became the Mayor of Zanesville. I only have one request - please don't let your dad be forgotten. Do something in his honor. . .so that we will always have him in our memories. With our deepest sympathies on your loss, Tricia "Willow" and Ralph "Bear"
