Grendel Scott Obituary

Grendel O. Scott, 66, of Philo, passed away at 6:37 P.M. on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House, Zanesville. He was born August 19, 1950, in Caldwell, a son of the late Charles W. and Frances Thelma Cain Scott. He worked over fifty years on automotive repairs with twenty of them being with Southside Collision. Grendel enjoyed going to car shows with his 1966 Ford Mustang and his friends, winning many awards and trophies. He was also an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed fishing, woodworking, spending time with his grandchildren, and his beloved wife and best friend. He is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Mindie M. Morrison Scott, whom he married October 14, 1972; a daughter, Melissa (Keith) Mills; two sons, Michael O. (Jenny Pride) Scott and Sean Scott; eight grandchildren, Thomas (Jennifer) Lynn-Mills, Michael Lee (Nicole Litchfield) Lynn, Joshua Scott, Michael Allen Scott, Ethan Scott, Hannah Scott, Hunter Scott, and Noah Scott; two brothers, John (Lois) Scott and Silas (Susan) Scott; and a sister, Esther (Bud) Arrants. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jake and Roger Scott. Friends and family may call from 2:00 4:00 and 6:00 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 25, 2017, with Rev. Stephen J. Harrop officiating. He will be laid to rest at Duncan Falls Cemetery, Duncan Falls.
