Donald Roberts Obituary

Donald Eugene Roberts, 78, of Nashport passed away peacefully February 6, 2017 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House, Zanesville, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 8, 1938, in Zanesville, son of the late Floyd E. and Edith A. (Stackhouse) Roberts. Don enjoyed gardening, woodworking, golf, traveling, and spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren on the family farm. He was a dedicated worker, and was employed for thirty seven years at the Kroger Company, worked as a stamper for the Longaberger Company, and being a gifted graphic artist, operated his own sign painting business for several years. He is survived by his wife of fifty seven years, Geneva Sue (Butcher) Roberts, whom he married April 4, 1959; sons, Kevin L. (Kelly) Roberts of Zanesville, Dennis E. Roberts, James G. (Sophia) Roberts, and Don A. Roberts, all of Nashport; six grandchildren, Brett (Diane), Meghan, Angelo, Drew, Dana, and Derek Roberts. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his brothers, Ernest E. and David L. Roberts. As was Dons request, a dignified cremation has taken place, and a private service for the immediate family will be held at a later date.
