Donald R. McCloy, 74, of Zanesville, died at 1:33 A.M. on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House, Zanesville. He was born May 10, 1943, in Zanesville, son of the late Donald E. and Helen E. Musselman McCloy. Donald was a United States Army Veteran and a truck driver for Creative Packaging. He was a member of American Legion Post 29, an avid hunter and fisherman, a creative story teller, and a member of the National Rifle Association.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra B. Glaub McCloy whom he married October 1, 1966; three daughters, Stacy Lang, Lisa Newsom, Jennifer (Anthony) Johnson; a grandson, Pvt. E-2 S. Michael (Abby) Newsom, Jr.; five granddaughters, Kaitlan (Chris) Fleming, Ashlan Lang, Blake Newsom, Laiken Foster, and Ayven Johnson; two great-grandsons, Traycen Lang and Bennett Fleming; a brother, Kevin (Mindy) McCloy; two sisters, Trudy (Dean) Stimpson and Linda Little; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his loving furry friend, Maggie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Karen McLean.

Friends and family may call from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Friday, July 21, 2017 at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE where funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 22, 2017, with Chaplain Tim Patton officiating. He will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville. Full Military Honors will be accorded to him by the United States Army in conjunction with the VFW George Selsam Post 1068 and the American Legion Post 29.
