Charles B. Kinney, 91, of Zanesville, died at 5:29 A.M. on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House, Zanesville. He was born August 26, 1926, in Zanesville, a son of the late Ralph C. and Pearl Burrier Kinney. He is a United States Army Veteran serving during WWII, a member of First Christian Church, and the American Legion Post 29. He retired after forty two years at Armco Steel and enjoyed feeding and watching birds. He is survived by his wife, Lila Swope Kinney, whom he married September 19, 1947; two daughters, Kathy (Doug) Darr and Pam Myer; two sons, Douglas (Pam) Kinney and Kevin (Sandie) Kinney; eleven grandchildren; twenty one great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his fur dog, Tyler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Kinney Hinkle; a granddaughter, Mindy Myer Hendershot; a son-in-law, Thomas Myer; five sisters, Clara, Mary, Eloise, Cecil, and Corrina; and four brothers, Louis, Arthur, Harold, and Robert. Friends and family may call from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, March 16, 2018 at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE with Pastor Dawn Remster officiating. He will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville with full Military Honors being accorded to him by the United States Army in conjunction with the VFW George Selsam Post 1058 and the American Legion Post 29. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church, 3000 Dresden Road, Zanesville, Ohio 43701 or to Genesis Hospice-Morrison House, 713 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
