Carlos Leroy Allen, Sr., 91, of Zanesville, died at 8:42 A.M. on Monday February 13, 2017, at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House, Zanesville. He was born April 30, 1925 in Granville, Ohio, son of the late William J. and Rosa Welch Allen. Carlos was the Owner of Allen Excavating, former employee of Line Material, and a member of North Terrace Church of Christ. He is survived by two daughters, Marcia (Dale) Blosser and Dolores (Dana) Moore; a son, Carlos (Marlena) Allen Jr.; a sister, Florence Marshall; a brother Curtis (Connie) Allen; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and the mother of his children, Dorothy (Eppley) Allen. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Virgil and Herb; and dear friend, Marlene Thornberry. Friends and family may call from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE. A dignified cremation will take place and funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 16, 2017, with Pastor Dean Cole officiating. He will be laid to rest at Duncan Falls Cemetery, Duncan Falls.
