Bill Hiles Obituary

Bill Hiles, 71, of Zanesville, passed away at 6:39 A.M. on Thursday, January 4, 2018, at his home. He was born June 4, 1946, in Zanesville, a son of the late Leonard and Lena Baum Hiles. He graduated in 1964 from Maysville High School and retired after thirty years of service for Putnam Transfer as a driver. Bill was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the National Rifle Association, and loved to fish with his grandchildren. He coached football and girls basketball at Bishop Rosecrans, girls basketball for Zanesville High School, and was a red cross blood donor. He is survived by his wife, Connie Maziar Hiles, whom he married January 9, 1965; a daughter, Michelle (David) Slates; a son, Scott (Deanne) Hiles; four grandchildren, Abby, Ethan, and Emily Slates and Beau Hiles; a brother, Charles (Barb) Hiles; and a mother-in-law, Waveline Maziar. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sherrill Whetstone; and a father-in-law, Peter Maziar, Jr. Friends and family may call from 6:00 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE.
